Desiree Lemoine joined the TJC Group with over 20 years of experience in the public sector and private industry. Desiree is a LSU graduate with extensive knowledge in strategic communications, issues management and public relations.Desiree is well known around the halls of the Louisiana state capital having successfully lobbied for both public and private interests. She is known for her honesty and straightforward communications skills.
Desiree began her issues management with the City of Baton Rouge in 1992 under the Tom Ed McHugh Administration, working in the East Baton Rouge Parish Attorney’s Office. Before working in legislation, she served the Parish Attorney in litigation matters. Once promoted to lobbying duties, Desiree helped to bring about stricter sentences for gun crimes as well as state funding for many projects in East Baton Rouge Parish.
After serving in local government for nine years, Desiree joined the Louisiana Chemical Association. There she served as one of the staff contacts for the governmental affairs committee, as well as Director of Communications and Public Affairs. Desiree played an integral part in passing legislation that removed the sales tax from natural gas and business utilities. Desiree also helped to pass legislation making it easier and less time consuming for businesses in Louisiana to obtain operating permits.
While at LCA, Desiree led a marketing campaign entitled “Get to Know Louisiana Chemistry” that included billboard ads, as well as a social media and a new website that promotes Louisiana’s chemical manufacturers, along with the vendors and suppliers of industry.
Desiree has served on the communications committee for the Lake Area Industry Alliance and the Louisiana Mid-Continent Oil and Gas Association. She has served on the civil justice reform committee and employee relations committee for the Louisiana Association of Business and Industry. Currently, Desiree serves as a member of the board of directors for the Capital Area Red Cross, and is a former member of the board of directors for the Association of Louisiana Lobbyists.
Desiree lives in Pointe Coupee Parish with her husband Michael and their two children, Lauren and Anthony Michael.
