Lana Venable | Director, Strategic Communications

Strategic Communications Director, Lana Venable, is a strategic thinker, skilled communicator, decisive leader, and diplomatic problem-solver with more than two decades of experience in communications and stakeholder engagement, including more than a decade as public and government affairs advisor for ExxonMobil Baton Rouge. She has a proven track record of cultivating effective relationships with community leaders, elected officials, policy makers and other key influencers to achieve advocacy and policy goals. Her expertise in leveraging media

contacts at all levels has generated positive media coverage and helped clients define the narrative on complex issues across multiple platforms. 

Lana’s other prior experience includes serving as press secretary for Louisiana Economic Development following Hurricane Katrina, acting as primary spokesperson for the department.  She has also led government relations teams in Louisiana for both the American Cancer Society and American Heart Association. Upon graduation from LSU, she held volunteer management, fundraising and event planning positions with other non-profit organizations in Washington, D.C., and Atlanta. 

Lana is a member of the Public Relations Association of Louisiana, a 2010 graduate of the Council for a Better Louisiana (CABL) Leadership Louisiana program and a sustaining member of the Junior League of Baton Rouge. She is active in the community and currently serves on the boards of directors of several nonprofit organizations. Lana enjoys reading, traveling, seeing live music, and spending time with her husband, Hollis, and their three kids, Evan (22), Elise (19), and Garrett (15) and their dog, Mathilda.
